Washtech was originally founded as Wash Systems Limited in 1981 by Des and Gary Brent. After identifying an unfulfilled market segment, they released the first Starline undercounter dishwasher, assembled in Des' single car garage. Almost four decades later, Washtech is the largest manufacturer of professional dishwashing equipment in New Zealand, with a broad product line that includes commercial undercounters, passthroughs, warewashers and rack conveyors.
In 1999, Washtech joined Ali Group, whose portfolio of brands makes it the world's largest manufacturer of hospitality equipment. Over 20 years later, co-founder Gary Brent remains as Managing Director, and all Washtech products continue to be made in New Zealand with support from a wide network of local suppliers.
Washtech is proud of our near 40 year history providing locally engineered dishwashing solutions to New Zealand businesses and community organisations. We are also proud to be an official supplier for Emirates Team New Zealand as they embark on their campaign to defend the America's Cup in 2021.
